 | she said yes is my current work in progress that I have been thinking, photographing and making short videos about for the past year. The images are about transformation and rediscovery of the self. My work has always delved into the past, both conceptually and technically, as a way of understanding myself, however this new body of work is taking my photography in a completely new direction. Images throughout the project portray: the body as self-portraits in varying degrees of clarity, the journey in motion and certain places as destinations, and time both changing and progressing as signified through image series such as diptychs, triptychs and video.
Part of who I once was has disappeared, and another part of me that was hidden is now rising to the surface. It is the present that I find myself investigating and appreciating.
